Morley's Final Catalogue: Broadly distributed, but somewhat local. Copdock, Ipswich, Needham; Southwold, Herringfleet. West Stow, Tuddenham; and plentiful on sugar at Brandon (Whe).

Recent Suffolk Status: Locally common in the Brecks and Sandlings.

Life history: Single brooded with a few autumn records of a second brood in recent years.

Identification: Riband wave has a rougher appearance and has the outer cross line kinked. Portland Ribbon wave has dark colouration between the cross lines.

Habitat: Heathland, sandy grassland, open woodland rides.

Recorded in 37 (64%) of 58 10k Squares.
First Recorded in 1940.
Last Recorded in 2023.
